Happy Monday!

Hey gals! I feel like I have been missing in action here lately. I have a hectic week ahead of me but it is exciting towards the end. I have the typical Boy Scouts and Youth Group events but I always clear out a good chunk of Tuesday evening for The Biggest Loser. It is seriously the only night I watch TV.

Thursday evening I have to coach my house full of the male type on how to live while I am gone. I am not kidding! I have not left them over night in over 2 years and I am going to be gone for… Continue

MOTNET Holiday Guide

I would like to develop a MOTNET Holiday Guide which will run the entire month of November. I am hoping to include something new each day of the month with us taking turns on hosting. I would like to see...
1) giveaways aimed at teens or things teens would purchase for mom/dad/siblings
2) homemade gift ideas
3) party ideas or teen holiday gathering ideas
4) how to include a teen in family time during the holidays
5) teen holiday coping ideas
6) any other suggestions can be considered

What I wou… Continue

Thank you! I'm looking forward to getting involved. I have been wanting to find a blogging forum that was more focused on tweens/teens - thanks for creating this group.

Thanks for creating this group. I love reviewing and offering giveaways, there are SO many for babies but hardly any for teens! My poor son (14) keeps asking when I'll get something for him to review, lol. His 9 year old sister and I have been getting all the fun stuff! He likes food reviews though ;)

Your input could be interesting especially seeing what it is you prefer to giveaway.

Hello!

I just joined Motnet, however, I am not a mom! I am actually a teen that started a blog for reviewing tween/teen products as I felt like there aren't very many around the blogsophere, especially compared to all of the mom blogs out there! I hope thats ok that I joined :)

I would love to help out in any way! I think it would be great to find some teen product reviewing blogs!

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any bloggers that have teens. They might, but all I read about is the kids. Here are some thoughts:

1. We could start running contests and poll our entrants regarding teen kids. The entry should be a yes or no question, otherwise everyone will claim to have a teen. Once we have an idea of the numbers, we can know where to move from there. I think a good initial giveaway could be T-shirts that appeal to teens, not one of the "Mom Bomb" tees & the like. (Don't get me wrong, in case you didn't know, I AM the bomb. And how about featuring books such as "Chicken Soup For The Soul: Campus Chronicles" and I believe there is another for high school teens.

2. We can also include tweens with giveaways for items such as High School Musical, Hannah Montana, etc. I know one of the Hannah Montana cast has something up in the giveaways.

2. To increase our numbers, we can refer entrants to each other's blogs for extra entry options.

3. My daughter, Sydney, is 16. I call her Girly Girl. She's very active in school and a member of Choir, Yearbook staff and Girl Scouts. She has tons of friends that watch me sweep and they comment about the lack of stuff for teens.

4. While I'm on my blog sweep today, I'll make note of current items up for grabs that would appeal to our group.

I'll leave another message for you this evening with my results. I be sure to get Mom Union up and running this weekend. I think we should jump on this. I'm sure that if we can see a need, there are already sponsors out there that are looking for bloggers like us. I'm totally jazzed! So glad I found you!

Thanks, Heather! Great name. Heathers are known to be very smart which could explain why you were clever enough to start Mom of Teens Network. Currently, my blog is Heathersphere, but I will be changing over to "The Mom Union: We Need To Renegotiate Terms. Seriously." I'll be checking back in soon. With so many giveaways sponsors focusing on the baby/children/pregnancy/breastfeeding market, I'm hoping we can stir up some interest or seek out products for teens. Some ideas that come to mind are I-Tunes cards, phones, clothes, gadgets, etc. Have you had any luck in this department? I'm just curious. Certainly we can't focus on one group, I don't think any of the blogs do, but it would be nice to drum up some product ideas to address this group. Personally I see so many giveaways and reviews that are directed toward a group I'm not a part of. What are your thoughts?
